Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Basic)

Duration: 4 years

Eligibility Criteria of Admission

The candidate seeking admission must:

  • Have passed Pre-university examination (PUC of 2 years) or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with science subjects, viz., Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • Have obtained at least fifty percent (50%) of the total marks in science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) & English in case of General Category and 40% in case of SC/ST.
  • Have completed 17 years on or before 31st of December of the year of admission.
  • Be medically fit (should produce a medical fitness certificate from a recognized and licensed Physician).

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

The candidate seeking admission must:

  • Hold a Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM).
  • Be a registered nurse and midwife.
  • Have passed a pre-university examination in the Arts/Science/Commerce conducted by the Department of Pre University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
  • Be medically fit (should produce a medical fitness certificate from a recognized and licensed physician).
  • Have a good personal and professional record.
  • Have working knowledge of English.
  • Be within 48 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

The candidate seeking admission must have:

  • Passed B. Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing Degree or Post Certificate B. Sc. Nursing of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka(RGUHS), or any other university accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, and must have obtained a minimum of not less than 55% aggregate marks. In respect of candidates belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, the aggregate marks obtained should not be less than 50% instead of 55% as above.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience after obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or a minimum of one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing Degree or Post Certificate B. Sc. Nursing in a hospital or a nursing educational institution, which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  • Registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
