JSS college of Nursing, Mysore organized the Annual Cultural and Literary Meet “Sambhrama 2014” on 29.05.14 and 30.05.2014. During the Sambhrama -2014 the students of JSS College of Nursing participated in various cultural and literary competitions and won many prizes.
The inauguration of Sambhrama 2014 was held on 29.05.2014 at 09.30am at Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Bhavana, JSS Hospital, Mysore. The Guests Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, Vice Chancellor, Music and Performing Arts University, Mysore appreciated the enthusiasm of the students to participate in the cultural and literary events and also she expressed her respect towards nurses and nursing profession by quoting her personal experience. Sri Rajashekar Koti, Editor, Andholana Newspaper, Mysore appreciated the unconditional service of the nurses in caring for the patients. Sri Mahesh R, Director, Medical education division, JSS Mahvidhyapeeta, Mysore presided over the occasion and encouraged the students to participate in co-curricular activities. Prof. Sheela Williams, Principal, JSS College of Nursing, Mysore was present during the program.
After the inaugural ceremony, events such as solo and group song (Indian and western) were conducted in the morning session. After the lunch break events such as mime, best jodi, fancy dress, face painting and fashion show competitions were conducted and the students participated enthusiastically. The first day programs ended by 08.00pm. The second day started from 09.00am with events such as solo dance followed by group dance – Indian, western and classical dance, mad ads, hair style competition, Mr. and Miss JSSCON. The competitions were judged by professional singers and artists.
The valedictory ceremony of Sambhrama - 2014 was held on 30th May 2014 at 5.30pm. The Guests Sri Shivaji Rao Jadhav, Film and TV Serial Actor, Mysore and Ms. Ananya Bhat, Play Back Singer, Mysore entertained the audience by singing a song. Sri Shivaji Rao Jadhav expressed that he was happy to attend this function and also appreciated the service rendered by nurses. Ms. Ananya Bhat expressed that nurses are the one who touch heart of the patients. Prof. Sheela Williams, Principal, JSS College of Nursing, Mysore presided over the occasion. During the valedictory ceremony the winners of the cultural and literary events received the prizes from the dignitaries. The program concluded at 7.30 pm.
