Report on Health Check Up Camps 2019
GENERAL HEALTH CHECK UP CAMP FOR ELDERLY
In Collaboration with JSS hospital, Mysuru, NSS Unit of JSS College of Nursing, organized general health camp at Alathuru Village, Nanjangud (T), Mysuru (D) on 26.03.2019. Dr. Rahul Raj and Dr. Akshay participated in the camp from JSS Hospital. More than 150 rural elderly people were screened and treated for minor ailments. Free drugs were distributed to villagers who were diagnosed with minor health problem. Mean while we organized health exhibition on diabetic mellitus and hypertension. The camp ended successfully with appreciation of village leaders.
PEDIATRIC HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP FOR RURAL CHILDREN
In collaboration with JSS Hospital, we organized pediatric camp for rural and school children of Alathur on 27.03.19. Health check-up was conducted by Pediatrician Dr. Pooja and Dr. Ashok from JSS Hospital. They assessed nearly 120 children and identified many chronic problems in them. Malnutrition is a major public health problem found in the village. Then we held meetings with the parents of these children, given medication and health education. Health exhibition was organized from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on ‘Children health problems and Personal hygiene’.
OPHTHALMIC HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP
In collaboration with JSS hospital, Dept. of Ophthalmology, we organized Eye Camp at Alathuru Village on 28.03.19. Eye check –up was carried out by Dr. Priyadarshini and Dr. Reshma, Ophthalmologists from JSS Hospital. They examined 80 villagers and suggested treatment for their eye problems. They distributed complimentary eye medication and also screened out people for matured Cataract.
DENTAL HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP
In collaboration with JSS Dental Hospital, we organized Dental Health Check up Camp at Alathuru Village on 29.03.19. Dental check –up was carried out by Dr. Chandrashekar and his team of Dentists from JSS Dental Hospital, Mysuru. They examined 140 villagers, including children and treated their dental problems in mobile van with dental cleaning, temporary filling. Camp was helpful especially for school children.
